Bhawanipatna: Former Minister and MLA from Junagarh Assembly constituency Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra got hitched Sunday with Priyanka Agasti as per traditional rituals at a Pipili-based resort in Puri district.
Priyanka is the daughter of Bhawani Agasti of Dekot village under Golamunda block in his Assembly segment. Earlier in the day, the couple’s engagement ceremony was held at the same venue.
This is the second marriage for both Dibya Shankar and Priyanka. Only close relatives from the bride and bridegroom’s side attended the wedding. While 28 attended the marriage ceremony from the bride’s side the participants were 32 from the bridegroom’s side
Sources said that Dibya Shankar had earlier married a woman of Jaipatna area in Kalahandi district. Later, he divorced her. He has a son from his first marriage, who is studying abroad.
Notably, Mishra was in the news for wrong reasons when he was the Minister of State for Home. He found himself in a controversial situation over the murder of a Mahaling school teacher Mamita Meher. The opposition members had demanded his resignation over his alleged links with prime accused Gobinda Sahu who later allegedly died by suicide in Kantabanji sub-jail.
