Odisha weather April 21: IMD issues Yellow Warning for these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 22: As per the Yellow Warning, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

The bulletin also informed that thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda and Puri.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of April 22 to 8.30 AM of April 23: The weather agency issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of the state.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur.

As per the Yellow warning, hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Koraput and Nabarangpur.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at few places over the districts of south Odisha, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.

The weather agency forecasted maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius over the next three days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, rain or thundershower with strong gusty wind is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 43.9 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
