Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra Saturday said that the state has reported 175 cases of dengue as of July 1.
Mishra informed that Khurda district including Bhubaneswar has reported 93 cases out of total 175. This is highest among all districts.
Mishra further stated that there is usually an increase in cases of vector-borne diseases beginning July.
The state has increased the dengue tests and till June 27 about 10,603 tests have been conducted compared to 5,394 tests last year in the same time frame. The overall test positivity rate is also low, the Public Health Director added.

Mishra urged people to empty water from tyres, coconut shells, pots, coolers and other items near their surroundings as the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which causes dengue, breeds in clean water with hard surfaces.
