Baripada: The adage “consistency and hardworking are non-negotiable” goes well with Kiran Soren, rank 361, a tribal youth from Khunta area of Mayurbhanj district who excelled in the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) examination. After cracking the exam, Kiran said, “One should remember that consistency and hardworking are non-negotiable.
During my preparation, I used to study for 6-7 hours a day and read articles and editorials on relevant subjects to enhance my depth of knowledge.” “I attribute my success to my parents, teachers, and those who have been a part of my journey. I can’t express my feelings in words. It’s a dream come true moment for me,” he added.
Born in Simagadia village of Bahanada panchayat under Khunta block of Mayurbhanj district to a police constable Narendranath Soren and homemaker Purnima Soren, Kiran had dreamt of becoming a civil servant during his school days. After completing his schooling in Kendrapara’s Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, he went to Ravenshaw University, Cuttack for graduation in Political Science. Similarly, he pursued his post-graduation in Political Science at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
