Robin Bansal, a 25-year-old from a small town in Rajasthan’s Sangrur district, recently achieved a remarkable feat by clearing the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination in 2022. His journey from being in a small town to cracking UPSC is a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
After his schooling, Robin cleared the IIT-JEE examination and took admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where he pursued his undergraduate degree. After graduating, he secured a well-paying job in the private sector, earning an impressive salary of about Rs 36 lakh per annum. Despite his success in the corporate world, Robin’s heart was set on a different path – the civil services.
Robin’s path to success was not without its challenges. He made three valiant attempts to crack the UPSC examination before finally achieving his dream in 2022. He climbed the ranks and secured an impressive All-India Rank of 135.

Robin did receive some coaching in the past, but he attributes his success primarily to self-study. He believes that self-study allowed him to delve deeper into the subjects and develop a better understanding of the topics in civil services examination.
As Robin sets his sights on becoming an IPS officer, Robin’s story is a reminder that with perseverance and dedication, no dream is too far out of reach.
