Angul: The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance Wednesday carried out raids on properties linked to Junior Engineer (JE) in Pallahara in Angul district on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income. Vigilance officials have also arrested the JE.
The JE has been identified to be Prasanna Kumar Pani, who works at Pallahara BEO office in the district.
On the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Pani, simultaneous searches were conducted by Vigilance officials — led by six DSPs, six inspectors and other staff — at nine places in Khurda (Bhubaneswar), Angul and Puri districts.
The Vigilance officials have so far unearthed five buildings including three multi-storied buildings and one flat in Bhubaneswar, 17 plots, deposits over Rs 51 lakhs, Rs.3.21 lakhs in cash along with other assets during searches on properties linked to Pani.
