Bhubaneswar, Jan 17: Superintendents of centres where forthcoming Plus II examinations are to be held should make at least two visits to each examination hall with an internal squad, according to guidelines set by the government for the smooth conduct of the examination.
Under the guidelines, the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE) will dispatch sealed question papers two days before the tests to the examination management hubs where they will be stored. The papers are to be received and opened only by the superintendent.
Candidates, who are to occupy their seats in the halls 15 minutes before the start of the examination, will be checked randomly by the invigilator who should not engage in any other work and also should not be the teacher of the subject of the examination. The guidelines state that these centres should also have urinals close to the examination halls.
The hubs will function under the direct supervision of the principal and the hub supervisor, according to the guidelines. A strong room will be prepared with single entry door and sealed windows, which will have CCTV surveillance, and be guarded 24 hours by police personnel and other security personnel of the respective colleges. The hubs will function from the time the question papers are received from the council till the last day of dispatch.
Examiners, who will be appointed by the council and be under strict vigil, will work for only five hours a day.
About 3 lakh students are expected to appear for the upcoming Plus-II examinations which are to be held in about 1,091 centres across the state. The examinations will begin March 2 and end March 24.
