Konark Sun Temple

Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century CE Hindu Sun temple at Konark, about 35 kilometres northeast of Puri city on the coastline in Puri district. The temple is attributed to King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga dynasty, about 1250 CE. It finds its place in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The temple is a classic illustration of the Odisha style of Architecture or Kalinga architecture. The temple was called the ‘Black Pagoda’; it looked like a great tiered tower which appeared black. It remains a major pilgrimage site for Hindus, who gather here every year for the Chandrabhaga Mela around the month of February.

Jagannath Temple

The temple is one of the holiest Vaishnava shrines and also a prominent one among the Char Dham sites (four holiest places in Sanatan). Located in the eastern part of India, it is dedicated to Jagannath, an incarnation of the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu. Crores of devotees visit Odisha to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath each year.
