Bhubaneswar: Government ITI, Barbil has come forward to impart professional training of the disabled cricketer Mangal Lohar of Joda after the his plight was reported June 6 in Orissa Post titled: ‘Mangal hits poverty, disability for a six’.
After reading the news, Barbil ITI authorities came to meet Mangal at his home Wednesday. They assured him of help and said that they would provide necessary mechanical training for enhancing his skills after collecting all the information about him. They also collected all the necessary documents of him like HSC pass certificate, Aadhar card, voter id and disabled certificate.
“According to the order of secretary of ‘Skill Enhancing Training Centre’ at Cuttack, Mangal will be trained in welding and fabrication work. We have collected the necessary documents from him to train hi, through our online portal,” stated principal of the ITI college Pranab Kumar Patnaik.
“Considering the economic condition of Mangal, the state government will finance his training. Mangal will stay at centre’s hostel from August and continue his training free of cost,” managing body member of the institute Rabi Narayan Patra informed.
Mangal thanked this newspaper for publishing the news of his talent and financial crisis. “Whatever help I have got is because of Orissa Post as they highlighted my talent and plight in a proper manner,” an emotional Mangal stated.
