Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police Friday recovered the body of a 25-year-old trainee marketing executive of an Odia television channel from a two-storey building near Panchasakha Nagar in Jagamara area under mysterious circumstances. “Prima facie, it appears that the deceased, Sankalp Mohanty of Balasore district, might have jumped off the terrace late Thursday night,” said Khandagiri inspector in-charge (IIC) Abhimanyu Das. Sankalp had joined the news channel as a contractual employee nine months ago after completing his studies in a city based private college. He was residing in the building, along with his friend, as a tenant.
Das said Sankalp’s landlord and his friend are being questioned to find out the exact reason behind his death. Besides, CCTV footage are being scanned for further leads in the case, he added. The cops, however, are yet to discover any suicide note left behind by the deceased. “We have registered an unnatural death case and sent the body to Capital Hospital for autopsy,” the IIC said.
