Bhubaneswar: Orissa powerlifters have so far bagged 11 medals including four golds, an identical number of silver medals and three bronze medals at the ongoing National Powerlifting Championships at Alleppey, Kerala. The tournament will conclude, August 19. The lifters won the medals in the unequipped category of the meet which started, August 14.
Winners’ list: (Gold) Laxmimani Singh (women’s 47kg; 290kg), Devi Singh (women’s 52kg; 342.5kg), Chandrabadani Mahanta (women’s 63kg; 374.5kg) and Sangita Singh (women’s +84kg; 382.5kg); (Silver) Anupama Swain (women’s 52kg; 317.5kg), Priyadarshini Bisoi (women’s 72kg; 397.5kg), Sangram Behera (men’s 83kg; 642kg) and Mohammed Javed Arshad (men’s 120kg; 640kg); (Bronze) Rupali Palei (women’s 47kg; 275kg), Mohammed Abid (men’s 66kg; 518kg) and Somarendra Mohanty (men’s 59kg; 470kg).
