Cuttack: A day after Orissa POST published a report on British-era buildings at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Postgraduate Institute of Paediatrics a.k.a. Sishu Bhawan here, a team of district administration officials led by collector Sushant Mahapatra visited the childcare hospital Friday and took stock of the old structure.
According to sources, Mahapatra directed Public Works Department officials to examine all old and dilapidated buildings at Sishu Bhawan and undertake immediate repairs.
Earlier, Health Minister Pratap Jena had directed the district administration to look into the old building issue at the earliest. “We will replace old fans and ACs at the childcare hospital. Steps are being taken to set up two rest sheds for attendants. Soon, the hospital will install a high-power generator and a transformer for uninterrupted power supply,” said an official of the district administration.
