Greater Noida: Four people were killed in a car-truck collision on the Yamuna Expressway in the Jewar police station area in Greater Noida of Uttar Pradesh, officials said Monday.

According to the police, the accident occurred Sunday night when a truck travelling from Noida to Agra lost control, broke through the divider and railing, and collided with a car travelling on the other side.

The impact was so severe that the car was severely damaged and all four people in the car were seriously injured.

Following the accident, panic ensued at the scene, and bystanders informed the police.

“The accident occurred August 30, 2026, on the Yamuna Expressway under the Jewar police station area. A Rajasthan-registered truck, travelling from Noida to Agra, suddenly lost control,” the officials said.

“Due to the high speed, the driver lost control of the truck, and it broke through the expressway railing and ended up on the other side,” they added.

They further mentioned that during this, a car travelling on the road from the opposite side was hit by the truck.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Jewar police immediately arrived at the scene and rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital for treatment. However, during treatment at the hospital, doctors declared all four injured dead, officials said.

After receiving information about the accident, police inspected the scene and began investigating the cause of the accident.

According to the officials, preliminary information suggests that the truck lost control, although police are also investigating other aspects.

Following the accident, Jewar police have taken the truck driver into custody and are taking further legal action against him. Police stated that traffic on the expressway has been restored to normal following the accident.

Police are also gathering information to identify the deceased and other facts related to the accident.
