Dhamnagar: A 45-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a truck “hit his bike from behind” on National Highway 16 near the Bishnupur square in Odisha’s Bhadrak district Friday.
Following the accident, vehicular movement along the national highway was disrupted for some time due to public outrage, sources said.
The deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar Sethi of the Kenduapada area of the district. He was travelling to Bhadrak on his motorcycle in the morning for some work when the truck, bearing registration number OD 34 V 6070, struck his bike from behind, sources said.

Residents gathered at the spot and stopped the truck. On being alerted, Dhamnagar police reached the scene, seized the vehicle and launched an investigation.
