Bhubaneswar: More than 240 newly recruited youths received appointment letters for various government jobs during the 20th Rozgar Mela organised in Bhubaneswar and Kataka recently. PM Narendra Modi virtually distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited candidates across the country through the 20th edition of mela.
The events were organised at Ravenshaw University in Kataka and at the Railway Auditorium at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar. At the Kataka event, organised by the Odisha branch of the Income Tax Department, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram distributed appointment letters to more than 80 newly recruited candidates.
The candidates were selected for the Income Tax Department, Department of Posts, CISF and various government bank jobs. Oram said the latest edition of the mela has created employment opportunities for more than 51,000 youth at 45 locations across the country. Oram urged the newly appointed candidates to discharge their responsibilities with commitment.
He said the youth would have an important role in realising the vision of a developed India by 2047. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Saroj Kumar Mahapatra presided over the programme. Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan attended the event at the Railway Auditorium in the City as the chief guest and distributed appointment letters to 161 newly recruited candidates appointed to various Central government departments.
Of these, 37 candidates were appointed to the Railways, 41 to AIIMS, 30 to the Department of Posts, 22 to CGST Bhubaneswar, 10 to the Income Tax Department, and eight to ESIC. Four candidates were appointed to the Central Ground Water Board, three to Financial Services, two each to the CISF and Ministry of Education, and one each to the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) and the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
