Mahanga: Three children, including two siblings, drowned in a pond while attempting to pluck water lilies in Jhadeshwarpur village under Bhadreswar police limits in Kataka district’s Mahanga block Sunday.
According to Bhadreswar police station Inspector-in-Charge Sandhyarani Singh, the incident occurred around 9 a.m.
The victims were identified as Jishan Khan, 6, and Salman Khan, 5, sons of Imran Khan, and Arham Khan, 6, son of their neighbour Abdul Anwar Khan.
All three were residents of Jhadeshwarpur village under Bhadreswar panchayat.
The incident has plunged the locality into grief.
