Bhubaneswar: Jiten Sarangi exacted sweet revenge on Md Raza when the former eked out a narrow 3-2 win over the latter in the pre-quarterfinals of the VIIth MIET All Orissa Open Snooker Championships at the Vintage Club here, Saturday. Jiten will face Subrat Das who thrashed Kunal Agarwal 3-0, in another pre-quarterfinal played on the day.
Raza had registered an upset win over Jiten in the pre-quarters of the Senior State Ranking Snooker Championships which was played at the Cuttack Club last month. However, this time Jiten quashed Raza’s dreams coming from 1-2 down to win the last two frames.
The other quarterfinalists are Anuj Panda, Amiya Nayak, Nishant Biswal, Siddharth Sen, Akash Mohapatra and Dr Rakesh Roshan Pradhan. Rakesh, Nishant and Amiya will face Siddharth, Anuj and Akash in the last eight stage matches.
