Dubai: India captain Mithali Raj has been named in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year while left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was the lone cricketer to find a place in both the ODI and T20 Teams of the year announced by the world body, Thursday. Besides the duo, all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur has also found out a place in the ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year.
The 31-year-old Bisht from Uttarakhand was rewarded for her stellar performances from September 21, 2016 till date which was taken into consideration by ICC. She took 34 wickets in 19 ODI matches and 11 wickets in seven T20Is in the period under consideration and is ranked 14th and 12th in ODIs and T20Is respectively.
England’s Heather Knight has been named captain of the 50-over team after she inspired her side to a stunning ICC Women’s World Cup victory at Lord’s July 23 while Stephanie Taylor of West Indies heads the T20 team.
