Balasore: A newborn baby who was abandoned was rescued at Sajanagarh near Salabani village under Mahisapata panchayat of Nilagiri block in Balasore district late Wednesday night.
According to the villagers, the newborn was found at one of Arati Singh’s house late Wednesday night. The villagers tried to contact ‘Childline’ members but failed to do so. So they asked Arati to look after the baby.
Later on workers of Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) arrived at the spot. They took the baby to the Nilagiri hospital and later on the newborn was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) for treatment.
