New Delhi: Senior Congress leader from Kerala, VD Satheesan, has been appointed as Chairman of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Screening Committee for Odisha with Jitin Prasada and Naushad Solanki as members.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi announced the names of Chairman and members of the screening committees for Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram, according to a release Friday from AICC General Secretary Ashok Gehlot.
Jitin Prasada served as Minister of State in the HRD Ministry in the Manmohan Singh government at the Centre. Naushad Solanki is a Gujarat-based Congress leader.
The appointment comes days after the party appointed district presidents and working presidents in Odisha and the recent changes in the state party leadership.
