Angul: The Angul railway station is set to undergo a major transformation under the Amrit Station Scheme, with redevelopment work expected to be completed by December 2025. The project aims to convert Angul station into a modern, inclusive, and culturally vibrant railway hub, significantly enhancing the travel experience for passengers across all categories. According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources, the redevelopment will prioritise accessibility, especially for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).
The Phase-I upgrade includes the construction of ramps, low-height ticket and help booths, Divyang-friendly toilets and water kiosks, coach position displays, dedicated parking areas, and lifts integrated with the foot over bridge (FOB). The upgraded station will feature improved passenger amenities such as public announcement systems, digital signage, enhanced illumination, charging points, CCTV surveillance, automatic ticket vending machines (ATVMs), train indicator boards, tourist facilitation counters and one station one product (OSOP) stalls.
