Cuttack, April 17: Riding on an all-round performance by Sameer Mohanty, hosts Biswabharati Cricket Club (BCC) defeated Saheed Sporting, Cuttack by three wickets to enter the final of the Pradipta Memorial Inter-Club cricket tournament at the SCB Ground here Friday. BCC will face Rising Students in the final Sunday.
Debapriya Patnaik (42, 34b, 6×4) and P Roshan Kumar Rao (34, 41b, 2×4) batted well as Saheed Sporting posted a challenging 191 runs in 39.3 overs after opting to bat first. Sameer (3/21), PR Sinha (2/26) and Lagnajit Samal (2/34) bowled well for BCC.
In reply, BCC chased the total down in 39.5 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Subit Biswal (56, 80b, 2×4) and Sameer (54, 42b, 6×4, 1×6) batted well for the winners. Sameer was adjudged man of the match for his fine all-round display.
