Cuttack, April 1: Cuttack-A and Rourkela stormed into the final of the Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament defeating their respective opponents at different grounds here Friday. The final will be played at the Sunshine Ground, here April 3-6.
The day belonged to Biplab Samantray (200 n o), who got his second successive double hundred of the tournament. Riding on his knock Cuttack-A scored a mammoth 540/6 in reply to BBSR-A’s 267 and won the match by virtue of their first innings lead.
The other semifinal was decided on net run rate. In reply to Bhubaneswar-B’s first innings total of 392/7 declared, Rourkela scored 273/5 at close of play. Ranjit Singh (83 n o) and Anshuman Gope (62 n o) steadied the Rourkela ship with a sixth wicket unbeaten stand of 142 runs

Bolangir thrashed Boudh scripting a massive 306-run win in a Group-C game of the Inter-District U-19 cricket tournament at the BOSE Ground here Friday.

Ashok Dandsena and Samsad Ara Begum emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories respectively in the Utkal Diwas marathon here, Friday.
Sudhansu Nayak finished runner-up in the men’s category, while Jogendra Tiria secured the third position. In the women’s segment, Sova Nayak stood second, while Hinu Majhi finished third.
