Bhubaneswar: BJD leader and Krushnaprasad block chairperson Soudamini Mansingh has joined BJP after quitting the ruling BJD. Mansingh formally joined the saffron party in presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, local MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra and Puri MLA Jayant Sarangi. This happened in the wake of resignation of two senior BJP leaders—Damodar Rout and Ashok Panigrahy.
Soudamini said she joined the BJP after being inspired by the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. She will work for the people through the saffron party forum. State BJP vice-president Samir Mohanty said her joining will strengthen the BJP in Bramhagiri area.
