Bheden: Police recovered the body of a youth in a pool of blood from a closed room at Sanpipilipali village under Talmenda panchayat and Bheden police limit in Bargarh district late Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Mantu Pradhan (40) of the village. His younger brother Rabi first informed the matter of the villagers and later the police were informed. As the incident happened late Saturday night, the investigation could not be started.
In the presence of the magistrate, police Sunday seized the body and kicked off an investigation. A scientific team and dog squad were also pressed into action.
As per the circumstances and a deep wound on Mantu’s head, it seems to be a pre-planned murder, said the police. Police have seized a blood-soaked wooden plank and registered a case. Police also detained Rabi, the younger brother of the deceased, and interrogated him as they suspected a family feud might be the reason behind the gruesome murder. The incident has become a matter of discussion among villagers.
