Chandbali: About a month after the death of an 8-year-old boy, his body was excavated from a pit in Bansada area of Bhadrak district Tuesday.
Ayushman, son of Amulya Mohanty, of Jaleswarpur, was down with fever and was under treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. But he died August 27. The family members had buried his body in a cremation ground.
Three days after his death, his family members alleged that the boy was earlier treated by a private practitioner, who had administered him wrong dose of medicine August 15.
The family members had filed a complaint against the private practitioner at Chandbali police station, apart from taking up the issue with the medical officer of Chandbali CHC, the CDMO, the Collector and the SP.
His body was excavated from the grave in the presence of a magistrate, witnesses following which the police sent it for post-mortem.
