Nayagarh: A brawl erupted following some groom’s men of a particular wedding gatecrashed dinner feast of another marriage function at Bhairabi temple near Pratap Prasad village under Itamati police limits in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, a source said Saturday.
According to the source, there were as many as three wedding functions being held simultaneously at Bhairabi temple Friday. It is alleged that the groom’s men of a particular wedding were found consuming food in another marriage venue.
After the matter came to the fore, the family members of the bride opposed the unwarranted groom’s men. Later, an altercation took place between the two sides which subsequently turned into a fistfight. Some wedding crashers were roughed up by the bride’s family members over the accusation of creating a ruckus, the source added.
On being informed, Itamati police reached the spot and detained one person for unruly behaviour. The person was said to be in an inebriated state.
Police released the person after the latter submitted an undertaking at the police station.
