Harshita Gaur of ‘Sadda Haq’ fame looks poised to achieve greater laurels as an actress in the days to come
Pretty and bubbly actress Harshita Gaur conquered millions of hearts with her stunning performance as Sanyukta in Channel V’s popular youth drama ‘Sadda Haq — My Life, My Choice’.
After completing her engineering, Harshita went on to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an actor. She is trained in Kathak and has participated in different cultural programmes held at the school and college levels.
“I was born and brought up in Delhi and acting was what I always wanted to do since I was a child. After the completion of my engineering training I decided to chase my childhood dream. My parents were supportive all along and I feel blessed to have such wonderful parents,” said the vivacious actress.
Sanyukta, aka Harshita, who describes herself as a straightforward and “chilled-out” person, believes relaxation is essential for healthy living. She feels a day is wasted if she fails to acquire any new skill or lesson.
Before playing the lead actress in ‘Sadda Haq’, Harshita started her career in the glamour world as a model and had done a couple of TV commercials.
Asked what she really likes about ‘Sadda Haq’, the actress said: “‘Sadda Haq’ – a youth- oriented show – revolved around the life of college-going students, and I played the role of a student who wanted to become a successful mechanical engineer.”
Harshita’s mother is her best friend. “I share a strong and friendly bond with my mother because she understands me the best. I cannot hide anything from her; she comes to know everything from my look. I love her greatly; she is my life,” said Harshita.
Actors Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone who have scaled new heights in their careers and are carving out a niche in Hollywood are Harshita’s icons. She feels that Piggy Chops and Dippy are doing great and whatever they have achieved is due to their own hard work and dedication. She is motivated by the success stories of the two leading actors.
Randhir and Sanyukta’s chemistry is one of the most scorching on screen. They share a friendly equation off screen too. Not only Param, Harshita shares a good rapport with the others off the sets too.
Do you relate yourself with the character you played in the show? “Yes, I am very much like Sanyukta,” she replied. “She is close to her mother much like me. Both Sanyukta and Harshita are fighting to realise their potential, and their dreams. We both are passionate, hard working and focused. Sanyukta, like Harshita, is an engineer. There are many other aspects in which I can relate myself with my onscreen avatar,” she quipped.
Harshita has lots of memorable moments to recount, and one among them is the moment when she came to know that a fan of hers had named her newborn daughter Harshita.
After ‘Sadda Haq’, the actress has received offers to work in a couple of shows, but is unwilling to divulge details.
