Jajpur: An eviction drive was carried out Tuesday at the farmhouse of former Dharmasala MLA Pranab Balabantaray in Odisha’s Jajpur district, with authorities demolishing portions of the boundary wall and several structures over alleged encroachment on government land.
According to sources, Balabantaray allegedly encroached on 1 acre and 10 decimals of land.
Following the action, Balabantaray claimed ownership of the farmhouse. The Dharmasala tehsil later issued a notice directing him or his representative to appear before the authorities and produce documents related to the alleged encroachment.
