Jharkhand: After the horrifying Burari suicide mystery in Delhi, another similar case has come to the fore from Jharkhand, where six members of a Marwari family were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hazaribagh district Sunday.
The dead includes two men, two children and two women. A suicide note was allegedly recovered from the scene that mentions the family was under a lot of pressure due to debts and losses in business.
The report identified the deceased as Mahavir Maheswari (70), his wife Kiran Maheswari (65), their son Naresh Agarwal (40), his wife Priti Agarwal (38) and their two kids-Aman (8) and Anjali (6).
While many suspected it was a case of suicide, initial reports suggested , three persons were attacked with a sharp weapon, while two hung themselves and one jumped off the terrace. However, confirmed details are yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, even as a police investigation is underway into the case. The incident took place in an apartment near Khajanchi Talab in Hazaribagh. After being alerted by neighbours, police reached the spot.
This is the second such incident in July where an entire family has been found dead.
Earlier in Delhi’s Burari case, 11 members of a family were found dead at their residence. Post-mortem report revealed that all the members of Chundawat family died due to hanging.
The bodies of 10 members of the family were found hanging from an iron mesh attached to the ceiling on July 1, while that of Narayan Devi was found lying on the floor in another room of the house.
Narayan Devi’s daughter Pratibha (57) and two sons — Bhavnesh (50) and Lalit (45) — were among the deceased. Bhavnesh’s wife Savita (48) and their three children — Neetu (25), Maneka (23) and Dhirendra (15) — were also found dead.
The others found dead were Lalit’s wife Tina (42), their 15-year-old son Dushyant and Pratibha’s daughter Priyanka, who got engaged last month and was supposed to get married by the year-end.
The police said that the hands of Lalit, his wife Tina and his elder brother Bhavnesh were found tied loosely in the front, while the hands of the other members were tied behind their backs.
No exact reason has been clear as of yet while the police recovered 11 diaries, which contained psychological musings and certain things written about the road to god.
