Sambalpur: An agent of a private financing firm was waylaid and a bag containing Rs 1.20 lakh robbed from him by a gang at gunpoint in Tamphargad village under Jujumura police limits in this district Thursday night.
Based on a complaint by the employee, police registered a case. No arrest has been made.
Police said the agent of Bharat Finanace, a private firm here, was returning to the office after taking a round of the city for the day’s collections. A gang intercepted him at an isolated place, beat him up and snatched his bag at gun-point.
SP Sanjeev Arora said a probe was on. Earlier also, many finance agents had been robbed in the area.
