New Delhi: The Union Secretary of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation Parameshwar Iyer, who is also heading the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) in the country, will meet the state Chief Secretary Thursday.
As per the schedule, Iyer will hold discussion with Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the Secretariat Thursday morning and take stock of the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission in the state. Members from the Unicef and other organisations are also likely to take part in the session.
As per the latest data, Odisha had a toilet coverage of 11.75 per cent in rural areas in 2014 but now it has increased to 54.95 per cent. Two districts from the state – Deogarh and Jharsuguda – have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) districts in the state.
