City folks all set for Chinese New Year

BHUBANESWAR: The Chinese New Year 2019 starts Tuesday, although in China, celebrations take place somewhere between January 28 and February 19. Each year is represented by one of the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs with this year being that of the Pig.

Mayfair Hotels & Resorts will be celebrating the joyous and festive spirit of the occasion with great fervour. The New Year will be ushered in splendidly at the hotel premises with a host of exciting events and cuisines including Soup: Tofu and Pok Choy with Apple, Non-Veg SOUP: Golden Crabmeat spicy Soup, Appetizer: Water Chestnut and Mushroom Hunan Style, Cottage Cheese with Chinese Pickled Chill, Non-Veg: Prawn With Assorted Pepper in Ginger, Yu Hsiang Chicken, Celery Pepper Chill Prawn, Dry Fired chill Fish.

The main course includes Keong Chill Mushroom and Tofu Sauce,  Kung Pao Spicy Mix Vegetable, Corn and Water chestnut, Baby Corn Chill Butter Sauce  Hot and Numbing Chicken, Chinese hot Basil Prawn, Fish Chill Yellow Bean Sauce, Lamb With oyster Mushroom. Rice and noodles include Shitake Mushroom baby Green Noodles, Udon Noodles, Cashew and chill flakes rice,  Roast Rooster Fried Rice. Desserts include Sweet Potato, Stick Rice and Jasmine flower sweet cake.

This year Chinese New Year Parade in London takes place Sunday. It’s a sizeable — and colourful — celebration, taking place throughout Chinatown and Trafalgar Square, and is completely free to watch. It’s the biggest Chinese New Year celebration outside of Asia.
