City gourmets relish ‘Progressive Cuisines’

BHUBANESWAR: A local restaurant near Sainik School held a unique event titled ‘Progressive Odia Cuisines’ to offer modern adaptations of Odia cuisines to food lovers here Sunday.

Interacting with Orissa Post Big Boss contender Sabyasachi Satpathy said, “I am delighted to have come to this meet. Progressive Odia Cuisine is an innovative step. The chef has offered us some brilliant modern adaptations of Odia delicacies. The eight-course meal comprising of fish, prawn, crab, chicken and mutton with other dishes like Badi chura, Odia Tomato salsa and Nadia Pachedi was great.”

Chef Michale said, “The cuisines of Odisha are beyond comparison. I, along with 22 of my staff members, worked hard to prepare the menu. I am currently working on temple cuisines. Soon it will catch up with the pulse of every foodie in the state and beyond. I have used Pita Saga, Badi, Nadia, sunsunia saga and Tej patta to redesign my dishes which will add a zing to your regular meals.”

Avinash Patnaik, a visitor, said, “Many of the food lovers in the city go for fast food. This is unfortunate and horrifying. Our very own Odia cuisines are nowhere to be seen. Therefore, such efforts should be recognised and promoted. A particular dish which impressed me was Ambula Rai Mayo which is a modified version of Ambula Rai. It came with Badi Chura and fried fish.”
