Belpahar, April 6: With elections to the municipality here in Jharsuguda district scheduled to be held Tuesday, the district administration has claimed to have made elaborate arrangements to make the proceedings smooth and peaceful.
Sources said 60 officials, comprising polling as well as presiding officers, were sent to all 30 booths under the municipality by Monday evening. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) as well as security personnel were also sent to the polling stations, sources added.

engaged in election duty arrived at the municipality office Monday morning. Later, they were sent to their respective polling stations along with EVMs and other necessary items under tight security cover.
According to officials, four sector officers, 30 presiding officers of all booths and polling officers and 33 class IV employees have been engaged in duty for election to the 19-ward municipality. Apart from them, police personnel have also been deployed to maintain law and order in during the polls.
Sources said an additional superintendent of police, two DSPs, five inspectors, seven sub-inspectors, 29 constables, 57 APR and one platoon of OSAP have been deployed in the town for the election. Besides this, an ASI and a constable have been deployed in high sensitive areas of the urban area.
One havildar and a constable have been deployed in all sensitive areas while one constable and a home guard have been deployed in other areas. Superintendent of police S Sainy is inspecting the security arrangements in the town during election, sources added.
The voting will begin from 8 am in the morning and it will continue till 5 pm.The counting of votes will take place from 8 am Wednesday and results would be declared later in the day, said an election officer.
