Morada (Mayurbhanj): In yet another shocking incident, a Class VI girl student of an ashram school under Morada block in Mayurbhanj district has been found four-month pregnant, reports said.
The matter came to the fore after the school authorities admitted the minor girl to Baripada Medical College and Hospital Thursday. Her medical reports confirmed she was four months pregnant.
During probe, it was learnt that the girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by her classmate, who also happens to be a minor. The girl also confessed of being impregnated by her classmate.
Reports said the two minors were allegedly in a love relationship and maintained physical intimacy. School authorities began suspecting after the Class VI girl complained of frequent vomiting and ill health.
Later, the school headmistress admitted her to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. During treatment, the doctors found the girl was four months pregnant after which the school authorities lodged an FIR at the police station.
Based on a complaint lodged by the headmistress of the school, police registered a case and detained the minor boy on charges of raping and impregnating her.
“After registering the case, we arrested a juvenile and sent him for medical examination. Further investigation is underway,” informed Inspector-in-Charge of Morada police station Yogendra Kumar Mallick.
The minor girl is reportedly undergoing treatment at the hospital.
