Daringbadi: Resentment brewed among relatives and family members of a Class VIII girl after the police failed to arrest a school headmaster on the charge of molesting the girl here in Kandhamal district. They demanded immediate arrest of the headmaster and action against him.
According to the case diary, the girl studied Class VIII in a government high school and resided in the school hostel. On the pretext of work, the school HM called her to his quarters and made her do his household chores April 22. He then allegedly molested the girl. The girl ran out of the hostel screaming for help. She then left the school and fled to her village. She narrated her ordeal to her family members.
Since then, the girl has been in a mental shock. However, the police have not arrested the HM even after 10 days of filing the complaint. The girl’s father demanded a probe and action against the HM. The incident sparked tension in the area. Locals condemned lack of safety in government-run hostels and demanded action against the accused HM.
