Bhubaneswar: Police Friday recovered body of a class-X student hanging from a mango tree in a private school near Chandichua Chowk under Khurda town police limits.
The student was from Gajapati district and his father is a police constable there.
Police informed that an investigation is underway. A case in this regard has been registered and the forensic team has arrived at the spot.
“We have informed the family members and they will arrive soon. However, the reason behind the suicide remains unclear,” the police added.
A source alleged that the boy died by suicide as his mobile phone was taken away by the hostel warden.
The source added that he came to school Monday after puja holidays. He was a good student and had an aspiration to become an IPS officer in future, the source concluded.
