Bhubaneswar: The fifth edition of Dharitri Youth Conclave will be organised in Bhubaneswar November 23 and 24. It aims to make an impact on the cause of environmental protection by bringing together young climate advocates from across the country. The first day of the event will see several climate advocacy groups participating and sharing their ideas for environmental protection.
In addition, the inaugural Dharitri Climate Film Festival will screen 15 short films on environmental themes, selected by jury members such as filmmakers Sushant Mishra and Snehasis Das. Speaking to Orissa POST, Das said, “Most of the films submitted this year are about various aspects of the environment, primarily focusing on the theme of climate change. The subject area is vast, covering issues such as tree felling, air pollution, and industrial waste.” On the second day, the youth conclave—held under the theme ‘Climate Change: Finding Solutions’—will feature expert panel discussions and networking opportunities with key environmental leaders and organisations. Attendees will have the chance to learn from renowned experts, exchange ideas, and gain practical knowledge on how to become active agents of change in their own regions. These engaging sessions are designed not only to inform but also to inspire participants to implement tangible solutions in the fight against climate change. Later in the evening, there will be performances on environmental themes by notable musicians.
On the occasion, a Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to an eminent environmental personality, and the Dharitri Climate Grant will be awarded to a local environmental group and an individual working for climate safety. Additionally, nine student speakers from various higher educational institutions will share their thoughts and raise their voices about climate change and its impact on their lives. The conclave serves as a platform for youth to share innovative ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and collaborate on actionable solutions to combat climate change. The event will not only enable participants to inspire one another but also create a foundation for future initiatives that have the potential to shape global environmental policy and action. As the next generation takes the lead, the Dharitri Youth Conclave 2025 showcases the immense potential of young minds in developing creative and effective solutions to climate change. The event offers an invaluable opportunity for youth to connect, share insights, and contribute to crafting real solutions that can bring lasting, positive change.
