Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Ashutosh Padhy entered the final of the 22nd State Snooker Championship after registering a resounding victory in the first semifinal match at the Vintage Club here Sunday.
Ashutosh drubbed promising Jiten Sarangi 5-0 (78-66, 66-27, 56-46, 65-23, 58-35) in a lop-sided match. Despite losing the match, Jiten reached the top four seeding position in the Senior Snooker State Championship for the first time in his career. Subrat Das will meet Nishant Biswal in the second semifinal Monday.

Radha Raman and Rising Students registered convincing victories in different matches of the FAO First Division Super League at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Monday.
In the first match, Radha Raman prevailed over Chand Club 4-2. Foreign recruit Safikul Islam opened the account for Chand Club as early as the fifth minute. Radha Raman was not left much behind and Nigerian import Imanuel Emi struck the equaliser after two minute. Janom Xess doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Then after just three minute, Ranjita Kerketa made the scoreline 3-1. Emi found the back of the net once again in the 38th minute and the team went into the lemon break with a handsome 4-1 lead.
After the breather, Amous Nathanil scored a brilliant goal for Chand, but that was not enough to snatch a victory from the jaws of the opposition.
In another match, Rising Student triumphed 3-1 over Orissa Police. Maheswar Sethi drew first blood of the match by scoring in the fourth minute for Orissa Police. But after that it was all about Rising Students’ show.
Antarjami Natyak restored parity in the 15th minute. Gerry doubled the lead just after one minute and Rising Students were comfortably placed at 2-0 during the first half. After the breather, SK. Rohit struck in the 81st minute to complete an emphatic victory.
