Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Tuesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Bahuda Port project. “On behalf of the people of Odisha, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for his visionary leadership, and to the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal Ji for enabling the historic Bahuda Port project,” Majhi wrote on social media platform X.

The Chief Minister stated that Odisha, with its 575 km coastline and rich maritime heritage, is poised to emerge as a key gateway for trade and industrial growth. He further said the Bahuda Port, with a capacity of 150 MTPA, will catalyse port-led industrialisation, create thousands of jobs, and strengthen Odisha’s position in India’s global maritime network, while attracting an estimated investment of Rs 21,500 crore.
