Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the Odisha Tex 2025, East India’s biggest textile event, at the State Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhavan here, today (Friday). Over 500 delegates, including top industry leaders, senior government officials, and investors, are scheduled to participate in the mega event, which is aimed at positioning Odisha as the textile hub of eastern India. During the event, the state government will formally launch six new parks for textiles, apparel, and wearables, said Minister of Industries, Sampad Swain, who review of the preparations Thursday.
These parks, equipped with world-class facilities, will be ready for operation soon, Swain said. The minister said Odisha Tex 2025 will serve as a strategic platform for fostering sustainable growth in the textile sector through MoU signings, industry interactions, and key policy announcements. He said the state government is committed to providing world-class infrastructure and seamless arrangements to ensure the event’s successful execution. “It is not just an event, it is a mission to showcase Odisha’s strength in the textile sector and create a platform for investment, innovation, and employment. This event will bring together global and national leaders to shape the future of textile manufacturing in the state,” Swain said. Industries department Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma said, “This platform will bring leading textile players to Odisha and generate significant employment opportunities for our youth. With progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and a skilled workforce, we are building a robust ecosystem where textiles can become a powerful driver of industrial growth, women empowerment, and rural transformation.”
