Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will write letters to all the beneficiaries of the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) after its launch August 15.
The commissioner-cum-secretary, health and family welfare, Pramod Meherda, has written to Collectors asking them to ensure that the letters of the Chief Minister reach all beneficiaries as per the guidelines of the department. A total of 69,69,672 people in the state have been included under the scheme.
The department has prepared a specific format to hand over the Chief Minister’s letters to beneficiaries. District Collectors have been asked to complete the process of letter delivery in a week’s time (August 15 to 22).
At the lowest rung, Block Development Officers (BDO) have been entrusted with the task of ensuring the last mile delivery through agricultural workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, revenue inspectors and others.
Meanwhile, political parties accused the government of misusing the state machinery for political mileage. “The government has planned to make use of the state machinery to use it for campaign-related work for their party work. It has been designed to boost the BJD’s vote bank and nothing else,” said Congress leader Jaydev Jena.
