Buguda: A college student and a woman reportedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison at Balipadar outpost area near here in Ganjam district Tuesday.
The two have been rescued and admitted to Buguda community health centre. The boy was later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as his condition got worsened.
According to sources, the woman’s mother-in-law abused her when the former had a phone conversation, presumably with the boy, late Monday night.
The woman has two children.
However, the next day, the boy and woman locked themselves in a room and consumed poison, reports said.
Local residents broke open the door and rescued them.
