Nabarangpur: A college girl was found brutally murdered at Anchalgumma high school area under Tentulikhuntia police limits of Nabarangpur district Friday.
According to a source, some locals spotted the body and informed the family of the victim along with local police.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body of the Plus-II student and sent it for postmortem. The cops have started an investigation into the matter.
According to family members of the girl, the incident took place while she had gone out to relieve herself Friday morning.
The family members of the girl launched a frantic search for her in nearby areas including the nearest jungle of the village after she did not return. However, later they were informed about her murder from fellow villagers.
The family members lodged an FIR at the police station complaining that the girl was killed by one of their relatives over a failed love affair. The cops have detained some of the relatives of the victim in this connection.
