Bhubaneswar, July 3: Standup comedian Nishant Tanwar presented an act in Bhubaneswar, Sunday, as part of his ‘Maha Cool Tour’. The act had repeats of some of his most famous gigs such as ‘When Indian visits Thailand’, ‘How To Lose Weight’, and ‘India Pakistan rivalry’. Comedians Satyabrat Mohapatra, Chetan Ananda Sahu, Akash Baghar also performed as part of the act, which involved 100 participants. Bhubaneswar Komedians organized the show. The group has in recent times introduced the city to the likes of Manish Tyagi, Sorabh Pant and Salil Shah. Raouf Gangjee, the founder of Bhubaneswar Komedians, said stand-up comedy was an art that offered a different shade of humour. He said the platform gave new faces from the city the chance to interact and learn new tricks. Samapika Routray, a member of the audience, said Tanwar’s act was very funny as it related to experiences of the common man and one could relate to them. Tanwar said comedy was risky business especially in India where many comedians have been sent to prison in the past for their acts. “Thankfully the audience here had no such issue,” he said. Tanwar is headed for Shillong and Goa after which he will be leaving for Dubai as part of a world tour.
