BHUBANESWAR: In a first of its kind, 80 eminent Oriya artists and painters from across the world assembled here Sunday to exhibit their art works at a five-day exhibition titled “An Interlude: Contemporary Visual Expressions, Viewership and Meaning”. Organised by Orissa Lalit Kala Akademi in association with Suvadra Trust, the expo was inaugurated by London-based artist Prafulla Mohanti. Director of Lalit Kala Akademi, Padma Bibhushan Raghunath Mohapatra, MP Prasanna Patasani, Bhubaneswar MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and Income Tax commissioner Sarat Dash were among those who graced the occasion. Art work presented at the exhibition include various media comprising paintings, print-making, photography, sculpture, installations and video-based art works. stract concepts like Bindu, Shunya, Shanti (period, void and peace) and other concepts drawn from Hindu philosophy and his personal experiences.
The exhibition features art works of eminent artists like Muralidhar Tali, Jatin Das, Durga Prasad Das, Late Dinanath Pathy, Bipra Charan Mohanty, Rabi Narayan Rath, Birendra Pani, Pratul Dash, JP Das, RamhariJena, Tarakanta Parida and other young painters. The five-day event, intended to produce a socio-cultural and visual impact among the local public and most importantly among the younger generation, will also host a discussion session with eminent artists on subjects like art and literature, art and architecture, art and performance, art and smart city and art and film dynamics
