Kendrapara: Police Tuesday detained a couple in connection with the murder of a 40-year old widowed woman at Blabalarampur under Sadar Police station in this district last Saturday.
The body of Sasmita Biswal was found from a vegetable field located near Luna river bed.
Sadar Police detained the couple after Anita Biswal, the daughter of the deceased woman, in a complaint alleged that her stepbrother Santosh and his wife killed her mother for property and insurance money of her father.
Police seized the body and sent it for autopsy to Kendrapara district headquarters hospital after registering a case under section 302,201,120(B),34 of IPC.
