Baripada: The common review mission (CRM) team under the Union ministry of health and family welfare Friday began a tour of Mayurbhanj district to review infrastructural development in hospitals, cleanliness and healthcare facilities in the district.
The team is led by Dr BK Swain while Dr RR Satpathy, Manash Khara, Santosh Nayak, Dillip Dash, Swarup Das, Sanijib Sutar and Mrutunjaya Ratha are the other members of the team.
Dr Swain divided the team into two parts. The first team visited district headquarters hospital and Ragunath Medical College and Hospital where the team interacted with patients and their relatives about the healthcare service in the hospital. The team also visited the medical college and its infrastructure.
After a visit to the hospital, the team left for Rangmatia CHC and Karanjia village where they discussed with locals about the healthcare service they are given.
On the other hand, the second team visited Bijatala area where they discussed with locals about various healthcare services including mother and child health care, family welfare programme, vaccination programme for contagious diseases and noninfectious diseasess and human resources system.
However the teams discussed with authorities of the hospitals about the success stories in healthcare service of other states. The central team advised the hospital authorities to implement the procedure to improve healthcare services in the district.
The team has planned to visit other CHC and PHC as well as parts of the district to inspect healthcare on scheduled dates including October 19 and October 20.
On the conclusion day (October 21) the CRM team will discuss with the Collector and officers of the district hospitals on the visit and will suggest measures to be taken to improve the healthcare services in the district.
The CRM team formed by the Union health ministry to monitor health scenario will come to Odisha. The delegation is slated to visit Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal districts too.
The department has cancelled the leave of officials and employees until the visit ends. This was ordered by the chief district medical officer in a letter- 4344.
