Berhampur: The Odisha Police arrested a CRPF constable Wednesday for allegedly raping a 45-year-old woman over several years on the pretext of marrying her, officials said.
The accused, a resident of Dakhinapur village in Ganjam district, is engaged with the CRPF battalion in Nabarangpur, they said.
He allegedly raped the woman several times in Berhampur and Gopalpur, a police officer said.
Police registered a case against the accused on April 26, based on the victim’s statement.
After completing all procedures, including medical test and recording of statements, he was arrested, the officer said.
